How did minority groups struggle for civil rights Essay They were saying that a new culture is spreading like a wild fire in opposition with the culture of waging war. Perhaps this has something to do with the 58,000 American soldiers who died instantly in the Vietnam War during the sixties and another 5,000 and more dying in the Iraqi war of today. People demonstrated to give peace a chance with 250,000 citizens marched from the Capitol to the Washington Monument (Cassutto, 1999), several propagandas to lead the largest anti-war campaign by some minority groups struggling for their civil rights to be heard. Some of them are the Chicago Seven, Students for a Democratic Society, the civil rights movement, the New Left and so forth. Counterculture groups protested and even launched riots that included fire and even death. With their self expressions or trends in the form of arts and poetry that seemed to be harmless in challenging the government of what they believed in, still some uses drugs, LSD and other vices which are very popular to the youth of today. It seemed that if contempt breeds contempt then same too with violence and regression. The Sixties Project Web Site challenges on opinions and the recent history. Those who lived in the sixties could tell and reflect on their stories. They even have Vietnam Generation Journal which can be very interesting for researching scholarly works to create a change. However, there will always be war no matter what we do. Histories have repeated itself and life’s hard earned lessons proven it. As long as there is governance that stands for the truth, thought it is not perfect America will stand to upheld liberty and democracy among all nations. Physics Assignment Global Positioning System GPS, of the Global Positioning System, is a system of satellites that orbit the earth above us that send signals continuously to ground stations that monitor and control GPS operations. GPS signals can be detected by GPS receivers, which by itself can calculate the location of the receiver by around ten metres. Such the accuracy and reliability of the GPS system that its is a required item for a long trip without and contact with humans. The GPS system was originally intended for military use; its use was to track and detect ships and submarines by the US military in the 1960s. As time moved on, and as the development progressed, its use changed, from only a military use to a more civilian use. When the GPS system finally became operational in the 1990s, it has proven itself to be a very sophisticated tool, being very reliable, as shown by the usage of the GPS system by both military and civilians. GPS worked by each satellite that emitted a unique radio wave also known as the ‘Pseudo Random code’, which is basically a series of random radio signals; so random, that there is absolutely no chance that thre would be a matching signal. The signals, which contain the time and the position of the satellite, are then compared by the GPS receiver from four satellites. Miranda Warnings

Police officers give the Miranda warnings right after arresting criminal suspects. The warnings contain certain privilege to protect individual from self incrimination. Officers usually tell suspects the following statements: â€Å"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you, if you wish†. The purpose of Miranda is to stabilize the suspect’s psychological condition and make him reasonable when dealing with police. Usually police are required to give Miranda warnings to a suspect who is the focus of an investigation where he will be taken into custody and interrogated. Custody is a formal arrest that places a suspect in an intimidating environment and his freedom is restricted. The location where the suspect is questioned is an important factor for Miranda warnings since not all places are hostile or coercive. Some events that justify custody include questioning suspects at the police station (brought in handcuffed), in a police vehicle (locked up in the back seat with a screen), at the crime scene (when an officer is about to make an arrest), or even at his home (awakened in the wee hours of the morning or handcuffed). Furthermore, a home can be deemed custodial if police aggressively barged in to get or question the suspect. When subjected to interrogation, a suspect is given the Miranda warning since the nature of questioning is persuasive to obtain a confession or admission. There are two types of interrogations covered by Miranda: questions that can elicit an incriminating response like â€Å"Why did you kill him?† and direct questioning such as asking a suspect to write down what happened. As a general rule, however, if the suspect invokes his Miranda rights, all questioning must stop. Overall, Miranda warnings are required every time there is custodial interrogation.
